Our area is located in the Hart & Muskwa ranges of the Northern Rocky Mountains of British Columbia and encompasses the Peace Reach arm of Williston Lake, the largest lake in British Columbia. This vast mountainous area surrounds Torwood Lodge with a mixture of Aspen, Pine, Spruce forests, 800 foot peaks (2400 meters), long vase plateaus and the remote river valleys.
The weather during the summer season in this region is typically warm with sunny days.
Pleasantly cool at night and with a very dry climate we are relatively mosquito-free at the Lodge.
Our cool evenings make for a great sleep, though not many of our guests have problems sleeping after a day's hike in the mountains or cruising and exploring the Peace River.
Temperatures range from 40F - 90F (or 4C-30C). Short rainfalls can come in from the mountains in the west, only to give way to the sunny, dry (very little humidity) Continental climate of the Praries to the East.
